Anambra : Obiano swears in new appointees.

The Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano yesterday at the Executive Chambers of the Anambra State Government House, Awka, swore into office, three new political appointees.
The new appointees were; Dr. Vincent Okpala (Commissioner for Health), Air Vice Marshal Ben. Chiobi Rtd., Special Adviser on Creative Security, and the Managing Direcor/Chief Superintendent of the Operation Clean and Healthy Anambra State(OCHA Brigade), Engr. Douglas Okafor.
The oath-taking ceremony was performed on behalf of the Governor by Mrs Nneka Okafor AG. Director Citizens Rights, Ministry of Justice, Anambra State. The appointments took immediate effect.
Speaking shorty after, the Governor said the new appointees were carefully selected and believed they would do a good job in their assigned duties. He charged them to discharge their duties with dedication, diligence and total commitment to the visions of the state which is already on a pinnacle in Nigeria.
In his valedictory speech, the former Commissioner for Health, Dr. Joe Akabuike who is now the Chairman Board/CEO of the Anambra State School of Health Technology, Obosi appreciated Governor Obiano for the opportunity given him to serve the good people of Anambra for five years.
He reminded the Exco members that under his leadership the Ministry secured accreditations for MBBS, School of Health Technology, School of Midwifery, establishment of the Anambra State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, The Anambra State Health Insurance Agency.
He also reminded the people that his tenure saw to the inauguration of the Traditional Medicine Board amongst other innovations. He thanked Gov. Obiano for appointing a young cerebral medical doctor to continue driving his (the Governor’s) vision in the Health sector.
