Third Session of The Third Synod of Mbamili Diocese: Gov. Obiano Tasks the Anglican Faithful on Peace Building.

The Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano has charged the Anglican faithful to be peace builders in the society.
The governor spoke through his representative and the Honourable Commissioner for Transport in the State, Sir. Uchenna Okafor Wiper during the Third Session of the Third Synod of the Anglican Diocese of Mbamili held at the Cathedral Church of St. Michael, Umuikwu-Anam, Anambra West Local Government Area on Thursday 11th April through Sunday, 14th.
Gov. Obiano appreciated the leadership of the Anglican Church in Nigeria and their House of Bishops in Anambra State for always finding a common ground for the peace in the state and Nigeria.
He used the occasion to inform the community that his government is building infrastructures in all communities in the state including Umuikwu Anam. He further pointed that it’s only his government that is building the road that leads to the Cathedral, built both the road and bridge at Iyiora Anam, others and urged them to keep praying for the state.
Earlier in his sermon, the resident Bishop of Mbamili Diocese, Rt. Rev. Henry S. O. Okeke dwelt heavily on the theme of the Synod – “Therefore Go and Make Disciples. Mt. 28:19″ and highlighted the need for all Christians to live up to their calling by gathering souls to God.
Further speaking, he said ” we thank Governor Willie Obiano for all his great works throughout the state and Mbamili in particular. He reminded the Synod that the governor has been a regular attendant of the Synod. He used the occasion to appeal to Gov. Willie Obiano to hasten up and complete the Umuikwu Anam Road project before the mid rainy season. He thanked the governor for his handsome donations to the church and prayed to God to continue giving him the wisdom he requires in piloting the affairs of the state”
