Anambra State Government is to commence removal of Cooking Gas plants illegally operating within the facilities of petrol stations from next week

Anambra State Government is to commence removal of Cooking Gas plants illegally operating within the facilities of petrol stations from next week.

The notice was contained in a statement issued by the Anambra State Government Executive Council Committee on siting of Gas plants and filling stations signed by the Executive Chairman, Anambra State Physical Planning Board, Barr Chike Maduekwe.

The committee noted with regret that despite having been served with removal order since October last year, the petrol stations had continued the illegal operation, calling on the operators to remove the plants with immediate effect.

It warned that if the operators fail to comply with the directive, government will recover the cost of removal of the illegal developments from them.

According to Barr Maduekwe, the Obiano administration places high premium on safety of lives and property of Ndi Anambra and as such, will not allow such illegality that poses threat to life to thrive in the state.
