APGA PRIMARY ELECTIONS MUST BE FREE AND FAIR NO MATTER WHO YOU KNOW ~ Gov. Obiano warns.

AWKA: The Governor of Anambra State Chief Willie Obiano on Wednesday 12th September, 2018 reiterated that the primary election of the All the Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) ahead of the 2019 general elections MUST be free and fair by all known standards.

The event was during the 2018 retreat  and a book launch of the Party titled “…APGA; THE TRIALS, TRIBULATIONS AND TRIUMPHS….” authored by Barr. Ifeanyi Mbaeri (the National Legal Adviser of APGA).

From the leadership of the Party were the Chairman, BoT, Gov. Willie Obiano, the Senator representing Anambra Central, Sen. Dr. Sir. Victor Umeh OFR and the National Chairman of APGA, Ozo-Nkpu Dr Victor Ike Oye, the former Minister of Information and hopeful Governor of Nassarawa State, Labaran Maku, the former National Secretary of APGA and hopeful Governor of Zamfara state, Alhaji (Dr.) Sani Shinkafi.

Other party faithfuls were, Dr. Alex Otti (Governorship aspirant Abia State), Sir Chikwe Udensi (Governorship aspirant Abia State), Dr. Frank Nnaji (Governorship aspirant Imo State), Senator Ifeanyi Araraume (Governorship aspirant Imo State) Dr. Ikedi Ohakim (Governorship aspirant Imo State), Senator Princess Stella Odua (Anambra North), Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah (Senatorial aspirant Anambra South), Dr. Nicholas Ukachukwu (Senatorial aspirant Anambra South), Amb. Bianca Odumegwu Ojukwu (Senatorial aspirant Anambra South), Chief Chinedu Emeka (Senatorial aspirant Anambra Noth) and the Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Rita Maduagwu.

Also in the list were, the House of Reps. faithfuls, Hon. Barr. Gabriel Onyenwife (Oyi/Ayamelum Federal Constituency), Hon. Ferdinand Dozie Nwankwo Anaocha, Dunukofia and Njikoka), Hon Ossy Prestige (Aba North & South), Hon. Ifeanyi Ibezi (Idemili North & South), Chief Godwin Ezenagu (Awka North & South House of Reps. aspirant), Barr. Mrs. Antonia Tabansi Okoye (Onitsha North & South Fed. House of Reps. aspirant), Barr. Chigbo Enwezor (Onitsha North & South House of Reps. aspirant); Hon. Charles Azubike Okoye (Anaocha constituency 1) (in no particular order) and others too numerous to mention.

Unveiling the historical compendium of the APGA, which distinctively chronicles the roles of the foundation leaders of the party with particular reference to Dim Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu (Ikemba Nnewi) and Distinguished Senator Dr Victor Umeh OFR (Ohamadike Ndigbo), Dr. Godwin Maduka acknowledged the roles of the honoree, Senator Victor Umeh in leading the party to the numerous victories especially through the various litigations and for his consistency in APGA and its ideologies.

However, Senator Victor Umeh in a remark especially gratitude for the honor given to him by the present leadership of the party recounting certain remarkable experiences even as he urged aspirants to be steadfast in the party irrespective of the results of the elections. He commended the efforts of Governor Willie Obiano in leading the party to the limelight, pointing out that the defection of Rochas Okorocha in Imo state had caused setbacks to the party but optimistic that the coming elections will be a consolidation on the strength of the party.

While addressing the party aspirants, Gov. Willie Obiano expressed pleasure with the quality of personalities aspiring to contest elections under APGA. He assured aspirants of a leveled playing ground in the primary urging them to remain and grow the party even after the elections. Repeatedly, he warned that the primary of the party MUST be free and fair no matter who anyone thinks he/she knows.
